HOW DO I OVERCOME UNGODLINESS?

  1. Crave and pray for the Spirit of obedience and holiness. Matthew 5:6 (KJV) “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
  2. Cultivate godly habits and practice righteousness. Isaiah 51:1-3 (KJV) (1) “Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.” (2) “Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.” (3) “For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.” Just as ungodly traits are learnt and developed, godly traits and virtues should be consciously cultivated.
  3. Engage the power of the blood for your rescue. Zechariah 9:11-12 (KJV)(11) “As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.” (12) “Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;”

BENEFITS OF GODLINESS

  1. Godliness gives us access to fresh anointing. Proverbs 1:23 (KJV) “Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.”

It is anointing that brings an end to struggles and limitations; anointing empowers you to operate beyond your limits, strength, intelligence and experience. Zechariah 4:6 (KJV)“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”The anointing is Gods input into your destiny. Acts 10:38 (KJV) “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

  1. Godliness engenders supernatural prosperity. Your prosperity is tied to your purity. Proverbs 28:13 (KJV) “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy”. It is possible to live right, and live in riches. Psalms 112:1-3 (KJV) (1) “Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.” (2) “His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.” (3) “Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.”
  2. Godliness engenders all round breakthroughs. Daniel 1:8, 6:28 (KJV). Plenty will always answer to purity. Job 22:22-25 (KJV) (22) “Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.” (23) “If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.” (24) “Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.” (25) “Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.”
