One of the reasons why we fast is to gain speed; when we fast, we become fast and destiny moves fast. Therefore, fasting empowers for supernatural breakthrough.

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LAST DAYS CHURCH ?

1. The last days for the church are days of SUPERNATURAL WEALTH . 8:18 (KJV) “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day”. It is important to note that power is required to get wealth. Therefore, if the last days are days of fasting and prayer, and fasting is a fundamental requirement for empowerment, it means that the last day church are days of empowerment for wealth.

HOW DOES FASTING AND PRAYER EMPOWER FOR WEALTH?

1. It is on the altar of prayer and fasting that we access divine directions on what to do in order to attract or get wealth. Isaiah 48:17, 21(KJV) (17) “Thus saith the lord, thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go”. (21) “And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out”. Empowerment is a product of fasting and prayer.

BUT WHY IS GOD EMPOWERING US FOR WEALTH?

1. For the advancement of his kingdom. 1:17 (KJV) “Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem”. Isa 45:13
2. The last days are days of SANCTIFICATION . 58:6, 8 (KJV) (6) “Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?” (8) “Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rereward”. However, it is on the altar of fasting and prayer that we are empowered to live a sanctified life. To be struggling with sin while fasting and praying means that you lack understanding about what it contains ; this is because fasting empowers us against sin, thereby causing us to walk in the realm of glory, righteousness and uprightness. Rom. 1:4 (KJV) “And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:” The transformational effect of prayer and fasting can be seen in our walk with God; your consecrated lifestyle. Prayer will take you away from sin or sin will take you away from prayer. Therefore to live in the realm of sanctification, we need to get empowered on the altar of prayer and fasting.
